Karen Gracyas

Karen Christine Gracyas, 67, of Bartlett, IL formerly of Forest Park, IL has passed away suddenly on January 18, 2018.  She was born on December 9, 1950 in Melrose Park, IL at Westlake Community Hospital.

 

Karen was a twin sister to Sharon Bergmann (Don) and a sister to Wayne Doss (Rilla). 

 

A mother to Christine Deer (Jason), Rebecca Busch (Randy), and Lauren Doss-Kuk (Antonio).  Grandmother to Andrea Deer (Ernie), Robbie Deer (Stephanie), Alissa and Alexandra Deer, Noelle Busch, and Todd.  Great-grandmother to Ernie Jr. and Godmother to Amanda Bergmann (Manny).  She had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly:  Pat, John, Kathy, Debbie, Candy, Tracy, Kevin, Antoinette, Dave and Jim Doss.  

She had many extended family members and countless friends. She was a graduate of Proviso East High School class of 1969.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard “Zeke” and Hertha Doss, and brothers Gary and Leonard “Corky” Doss. 

 

Karen loved to cook and bake, especially with her kids and grandkids. She loved going to the farmers market and cooking meals for the family.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan and was even able to fulfill her dream of kissing the Stanley Cup!  Karen is now reunited with her beloved dog Sheffie.  She loved The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John and commonly took the high road while enjoying life to its fullest. “You may say she was a dreamer, but she was not the only one.”

 

Karen’s visitation is Friday, January 26, 2018 from 3 - 9 pm.

A prayer service will be held from 7:00 - 7:30 pm.
